The crew put on an excellent demo bus. Everything went off like clockwork from breakfast sandwiches, OJ, and coffee to getting us to Loveland on time with lots of skis to try out and very helpful techs. Lunch was very good and the beer, wine, cheese and snacks on the way home were another great touch.

This is the best ski shop in town! The staff knows skiing inside and out, and the store has a great selection of equipment, clothing, and accessories. Rentals are available too. The ski repairs and tune-ups here are the best I've found. Unsure what skis I wanted to buy, the staff suggested their Ski Demo Bus which would allow me to try many skis from multiple vendors in one day. WOW! What a great time the Demo Bus attendees had! The day was exceptionally well planned and organized with ten ski vendors and dozens of skis to try -- not to mention a great time both on the slopes and on the bus! I found my skis and the Ski Shop got them ordered.If you live in (or anywhere near) Colorado Springs, you need to check out The Ski Shop for your skiing and riding needs.

The Ski Shop is the best shop in town! Staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They will get you hooked up with the right gear. I highly recommend the annual Ski bus trip to Loveland to demo skis. Great experience. Love this place!

I joined the group of folks on a bus trip to Loveland Ski Area for a Demo Day with multiple ski brands represented. I was pleased with the very well organized arrangements! Took a bus trip to Loveland to Demo ski’s thru the Ski Shop. I had no expectations since I’ve never done this before. What a great experience it was. The bus ride up was relaxing and fun. Rich and his team were open for any questions let alone providing us with snacks and drinks. Once we arrived, we had our own private room to get ready and at least 10 different ski reps with a great lineup of skis to try. I ran laps off one of the runs and within minutes I was on a new set of skis to try. What a great treat. And I found a great ski that I eventually want to purchase.

I came in for new boots and was helped by Kevin. It was apparent that he was super knowledgeable about boot fitting. I’ve skied my whole life and accepted that boots weren’t going to be comfortable. Kevin changed my perspective on this and I’m super happy with the boots I purchased. The whole staff is super friendly, they even got 3 pairs of skis adjusted to the new boots in just a day so I’d be ready for an upcoming trip. I’ll definitely come back to this shop, the service and staff are top notch!

Went in about a month ago to get my first board for a trip. The salesman (wish I could remember his name) who helped me was beyond helpful. He got all my info on experience (used to be good but hadn't been in 10+ years) and helped me pick out a board based on that. He also helped me pick out boots and bindings, once he found out my size he immediately pointed me towards some used Burton step ons in my size, which saved me hundreds of dollars. They also got my board all set up for me. I recently returned from my trip and everything was perfect! The board was an exact fit for my skill level and I was so glad to have step ins. I wish I could give more stars as my experience at the store was 5/5 and my experience with the equipment they sold me was 5/5. Added bonus, even without used boots my board was significantly less expensive than if I had bought it from the online retailer I was looking at.

I went in to buy my first set of skis. Al and Will were amazing. They answered all of my questions no matter how beginner, and they gave me great recommendations. Their expertise and ability to explain the whys behind everything was really appreciated. Lastly, Will went above and beyond to turn around my skis so they were ready for my trip. I’ll be going back here for all of my skiing maintenance and needs.

These guys blew me away! I have shopped with them for awhile, but when all the areas in Colorado closed due to the Coronavirus they went above and beyond all expectations! Also THE best tune ever! Boot fitmentI have a high instep. I have trouble with boots...to include getting them on. My frustration was off the charts after trying on more than few different brands days before. I rolled into this place on my way thru town because maybe....? I got hooked up with Al(?). I told him about my "loft" ability and how I was going to use them and he got to work. After more than a few measurements and comments on the 3x's size higher instep I have he disappeared/reappeared with 2 different boots. Both models slid right on. They were tight but comfortable. He suggested I go with the tighter model. After heating the inside, sliding them on and strapping them down I swear the clouds parted and the sun shine thru. THIS is what ski boots can feel like?! After a short discussion about custom sole inserts we made a pair of those too. I havent tried them on yet but Im sure heavens will part and angels will sing(no offense, you apply your own beliefs here).Thanks Al!SummaryIf you want boots....GO HERE

Leaving a review to provide feedback as I want local shops to continue to thrive. I've shopped here several times for ski stuff since moving to CO a couple of years ago and have had mostly great experiences. A big highlight for me was their boot fitting process. Staff in that area were fantastic. They were very patient and encouraged me to try on multiple boots to find the right fit. I ended up purchasing my boots here and eventually got custom inserts the second season. No regrets there. I also had the same level of help selecting a helmet and accessories on different visits.Seasonal rentals - my Wife and I both did this the first year and it worked out well. Would recommend to beginners looking to ski on something reliable all year and have access to the shop.The Demo rental experience however did not go as well. I initially made a demo reservation hoping to ski near a 100 waist ski to get some more experience with that width. I was mainly interested in a k2 mindbender 90~00 or Rustler 9/10 as those were my target purchase skis at the time. When I came in however, it took them forever to pull me up and then get a ski (New rental system they are adjusting to atm). While in the process of picking my boots up I was recommended the Nordica Enforcer 100. I believe this was due to lack of length size ski for me in the other two (maybe not?). Regardless, I chose to go with the recommendation. Upon getting to Crested Butte for a couple days of skiing I pretty much gave up on it after five or six runs. The stiffness kept bucking me off in the bumps and it became super frustrating. Feeling like I was stuck, my friend with me actually took me into Epic and put me on a Rustler 10 at the base and I ended up skiing that for a day before trying a k2 experience (nice being able to swap demos out). Also, a $100 deposit for some beat up Nordica 100s seems a bit silly, I already paid a damage waiver. And the yellow deposit slip? I get it's a mom and pop store but requiring people to hold onto the physical piece of paper rather than managing that electronically is ridiculous to get a $100 deposit back, C'mon now (Edit - apparently this was only due to conditions and some bad experiences they were getting - I had not seen this before and hopefully they don't have to do it again in the future). Admittedly I'm probably more irked about that given the exp with the demo (I locked that yellow slip up in my glove compartment). Finally, returning the demos went fairly smooth given how busy it was. The poor staffer in the back was by their lonesome and it was probably the busiest I had seen it on a random Tuesday. She asked me how they went and I was upfront with her and she seemed genuinely curious how she could help, but she was just to overwhelmed at the time.Edit on 1/12/24. One of the owners did reach out to me about my demo experience and went over some things they could have done better moving forward. I appreciated the open communication and they definitely made things right for me. I intend to give the demo experience another go with them this season.

I took a pair of Volkl performance demo skis out and they skied great but had some kind of factory defect that caused a huge part of the top sheet to rip off the tail. I was pretty worried about returning them needless to say, but the owner was great about it said he would handle it as a warranty with Volkl. Great customer focus, they earned a long term loyalty with that.

This is the second year I've had Austin wax and tune my snowboard. As a new rider, he explained why this helps with riding and compared to the people I took it to before, I feel way more confident. Definitely will keep coming back to work with him!

5 stars simply is not a satisfactory form of scale. This Ma and Pa ski shop deserves 10 stars at a minimum. Never had my board tuned before and the crew in the shop made it look as good as new! The employees were also very informative when assisting me in picking out a new helmet and boots. Will definitely be back for my next set up. Thank you!

Felt compelled to write a review on this place. Have done business here a handful of times since moving to Colorado Springs last year (after a 17+ year hiatus from skiing). Purchased a pair of fitted ski boots today, sales associate Kevin helped me (who apparently has been working there since 1983, don't see that employee loyalty anywhere these days). Has been a fantastic experience every time. Family Run Business, I try to support local enterprises as much as able. Highly recommended!

Rick, the owner, took care of me while I was shopping for skis - I visited many places and The Ski Shop was by far the most knowledgeable and helpful. Skis are a big purchase, and Rick was patient while answering all my questions about all the different options. Bought new boots today. Very knowledgeable people helping me which is why I go there instead of the larger stores. They also have the ski store smell that only shops that specialize in ski gear will have, lol. You know you are in the right place when you smell the wax! They have tons of skis, boards, and boots to choose from. They are also great at tunning which I've used them for in the past. Highly recommend!

I went in this past weekend for their big sale and am exceptionally pleased with the service I received from Bill and Rick. Every member of the staff with whom I interacted were friendly, funny and eager to serve.Bill completed my boot fitting and I felt he was VERY knowledgeable. He took his time evaluating my feet, and my bunions, in order to get me in the right boot for my feet, height and weight. We shared a few good laughs throughout the process, and he was very patient and kind with me.Look, I’m not exactly rollin’ in the dough at the moment and I LOVE that they offer layaway! No one does that anymore and it’s greatly appreciated! Now I can get into the RIGHT gear so as to avoid injury and be able to actually improve my skiing. I’m so stoked to get my custom-fit boots in possession and hit the slopes! Thank you Bill and Rick. You both were awesome and I look forward to doing more shopping at The Ski Shop Inc.

Absolutely loved my experience. Have not skied in a long time and by no means an expert. I went in to inquire about purchasing some boots and skis. The customer service was brilliant. They took the time to fit me properly for the boots and the owner was a huge help in helping me pick a suitable pair of skis for my ability and price point. I came in with a load of non-sense…skis, boots, snowboards, and boots for that too. Purchased it all on the interwebs at my own convenience, and they still took really good care of me. Kevin has worked their since I think the store opened in 1989, and I was super meticulous and incredibly patient with me in fitting, molding, and demonstrating proper wear of my new boots. He is an extremely helpful and knowledgeable individual that loves what he does.Then, when it came to snowboard land, he threw me over to Joey. Another helpful employee with a great attitude and willingness to help. He too answered all of my ignorant questions with a smile on his face and an understanding demeanor. All great folks up there! I highly recommend it.

Stopped in after going to a few other shops (local & national), but not finding that "Cinderella" boot fit. Rick really helped out with finding the right set of ski boots. He took multiple measurements and impressions, above and beyond what I experienced elsewhere. He instantly recognized the problem I was describing with my current points & knew just where to guide me. I finally felt confident with a bootfitter. Plus they have a layaway option and will help adjust the boots for up to 2 years after purchase. Definitely looking forward to working with The Ski Shop again.

If you’re looking for a ski shop that knows ALL ABOUT the products they sell and has an array of products for hard-to-fit sizes, look no further! I remember going to The Ski Shop with my parents as a little girl and yesterday when I was in town with my own kids—teenagers, one of which has sensory processing disorder— I could REALLY see why! We have trouble finding pants that fit AND are comfortable enough for my daughter to wear all day skiing without falling apart (the daughter, not the pants). Debbie (who I now believe is the most patient woman in the world) must have hauled out 20 options (maybe more?) for her to try on and she knew EVERYTHING about them—the fabric (did you know they exist with stretch now? Me neither!), the cut, the manufacturer, which ones ran small/large (they even carry petite sizes!), etc. until we finally found not just ONE but TWO pairs for my daughter to choose from. I’ve never been somewhere with so many pants options! I live two hours away, but I will certainly put The Ski Shop at the top of my list next time we are in the market for new ski gear.

The best place for renting or buying snow gear in town! The store is well stocked and the staff is SO friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and helpful! Being an avid snowboarder I shopped at dozens of ski shops all over Colorado and this store is my favorite! On top of their professionalism the owners Debbie and Rick are also the kindest people as they regularly give back by organizing winter coat drives, fundraisers and other charitable outlets.I'm usually too lazy to leave reviews very often but I just truly couldn't say enough praise for this amazing family owned local business.
